George is a software solutions professional with a passion for helping people and tackling challenging problems - even when previous efforts have failed. His technology interests and experience includes software development and systems integration efforts for human capital and learning management systems, library and information retrieval systems, knowledge and content management systems, dashboards, portals, and other financial/administrative systems of record.
George has a strong track record of leading successful projects and getting new ones off the ground, particularly for non-profits, internal IT teams, software development organizations, and educational institutions. He is well versed in the nuances of software design and development in academic contexts, adoption/usage patterns, APIs and developer strategies, and software componentization based on open standards and modern architectures.
Currently, George leads a team of technology experts at a growing non-profit organization that is focused on high-quality, strategic philanthropy. Prior to this role he looked after the online teaching and learning infrastructure for the largest online public university in the United States. He has presented extensively to global audiences, and his work and analysis have been referenced in publications from organizations including Gartner, U.S. News and World Report, PC Magazine, EDUCAUSE, Inside Higher Ed, Campus Technology, and the US Department of Education. He has a longer-term goal of becoming the CIO for a small-to-medium-sized organization.
